Wayne Tinsey is an educator, speaker, writer and mentor, whose work is shaped by a lifelong commitment to education, spirituality, leadership, and the search for meaning.
He has served in teaching and senior leadership roles across schools, universities, and educational communities in Australia and internationally.

He was the inaugural Executive Director of Edmund Rice Education Australia, a position he held for 14 years. Prior to this, Wayne was the Director of Schools in the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.
Wayne is the founder of Edmund Rice Education Beyond Borders, a global education network consisting of 230 school communities spanning 24 countries. For 5 years, Wayne provided inspiration, support, and formation to leaders, educators, and students in this network through his work as a Global Ambassador.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Wayne works with people and communities across cultures and contexts, bringing a broad, deeply human, and globally informed perspective.
Throughout his life, Wayne has remained a strong advocate for justice and a voice for those people made poor. He has personally led hundreds of people to encounter those at the margins through the many immersion groups he has taken to India and Latin America.
Now, through Our Common Heart, Wayne freely shares his experience and wisdom through speaking, mentoring, accompaniment, and reflective writings, which inspire and support those who feel drawn to a deeper, more grounded way of being in the world.
Grounded in the Christian tradition and in the wisdom found across all spiritual paths and human experience, Wayne writes and speaks with a thoughtful, compassionate, and accessible voice.
He is the author of Touchstones and Our Common Heart, and hundreds of other reflections on spirituality, education and the search for meaning. These writings are freely available on this website.
